What Happens After A Referral Is Submitted?
Schools and approved community organizations submit referrals for children and families they believe may benefit from additional holiday assistance.
Referral information is reviewed by Weld Elves volunteers. Depending on the school or organization, families may be contacted directly for additional information, while some referrals are submitted by staff on behalf of the family.
Volunteers select and prepare gifts for each referred child. Gifts and stocking stuffers are collected, organized, and wrapped by community volunteers.
Completed gifts are provided to participating agencies for distribution. Each school district, police department, or partner organization may have its own distribution process.
Families receive their gifts through their referring school or participating agency during the holiday season.
Missing Gifts?
IMPORTANT
If your child was referred through their school and has not received gifts, please contact the Police Department in the community where the child's school is located.
Important Delivery Information
To help ensure gifts are delivered successfully, families should make sure their school or referring agency has current and accurate contact information.
If a family moves after a referral is submitted, it is important to notify the referring school or agency as soon as possible. Incorrect addresses or outdated contact information may result in delays or an inability to deliver gifts.
